Head of Production
(Senior Front-end Developer / Senior Rich Media Designer)
Job Description
The Head of Production works cooperatively with the creative department and Producers/Information Architect to translate visual designs, user experience flows and content into functional interfaces for client projects. You must be an expert in site structure and content management optimizing site builts for integration, speed and quality. You will work closely with members of the creative team and other developers both front-end and backend to implement and optimize rich media and dynamic site experiences and determine browser or other clientside technology recommendations and guidelines during the Planning phase. You will typically join a project team during Discovery phase of the project to assist in the development of engineering requirements.
Skills / Qualifications
- Creative background is desired
- You must be an expert of front-end development and its technologies
- Advance level of Flash Actionscript 2.0 (minimum)
- At least 3-4 years experience as a Flash Developer or equivalent.
- At least 2-3 years experience in a digital production environment.
- At least 2-3 years of web application development experience using xHTML and object-oriented JavaScript/DHTML and Flash
- 1 year experience with Shockwave, SMIL, Streaming Audio/video and other rich media applications and protocols.
- Knowledge of Macintosh and Windows operating systems and associated browsers, applications and utilities.
- Knowledge of backend programming technologies – ASP/ASPX/PHP/CFM/JSP is a plus
- Experience with either content management systems and knowledge of search engine optimization is preferred
- Experience with version control, issue tracking, and build/release management is desired
- Experience in authoring formal specifications and related documents is a plus
- Experience in participating in multiple consulting or development engagements in parallel
- Ability to deliver projects on time, with high quality, and within budget
- Ability to deliver full life cycle engagements
- Ability and desire to thrive in a high-pressure environment
Responsibilities
- Delivering projects on time and within budget, and with high quality and within standards and guidelines
- Develop client-side interfaces using xHTML, CSS/DIV, Flash and others as required.
- Create animated rich-media content for banners and websites
- Working collaboratively with the creative staff to decide interface implementation details and rich mediainterfaces.
- Assisting in the development of the Quality Assurance Plan, Production Guide, Technical Design Document and IA documentation as appropriate.
- Managing junior and senior front-end developers (Content Engineers / Front-end Developers / Rich Media Designers)
- You will report to the Executive Producer
